Former Mossad Chief, Meir Dagan, has said that Yuval Diskin, the former director of Shin Bet (Israel’s Security Agency), was speaking his “internal truth” when he criticized Israel’s Prime Minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, and Defence Minister, Ehud Barak.

Dagan made his statements on Sunday at a conference organized by the Jerusalem Post and held at the Marion Hotel in New York. The conference was attended by former Israeli Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert, and former IDF chief of staff, Lt. Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi. Dagan described Diskin as a good friend and a serious person speaking his “internal truth”.

Dagan has criticized the ruling Likud Party’s intention to pass the “Dagan Law” which entails imposing restrictions on statements made by the heads of security apparatuses.
